Other Fees 2020

  • A deposit for music purchases of $40 must be paid by the first lesson of August or at the time lessons are begun if a student starts during the semester. This is in addition to the tuition and is non-refundable. When a student needs music or supplies, the teacher will use the funds from this "escrow" account to pay for the purchases. Should a student's music needs surpass the amount in escrow, the remaining unpaid balance will be applied to the student's bill for the next month. The teacher will always exercise frugality when spending from the escrow account, while ensuring the student gets the materials that are crucial to his/her learning. If a student has paid by the semester, a separate bill will be issued to cover the remaining supplies balance.
  • All fees for competitions are the student's/ parent's responsibility and are not calculated in the cost of lessons at Meyer Music Studio.
  • If you are a returning student and want to reserve your private lesson time and day for the upcoming year, a $50 deposit is due by July 1st. This non-refundable deposit will be applied towards your balance for the upcoming semester. This deposit is necessary so I know how to schedule new students.
  • No refunds will be given. The teacher will make up one lesson per semester missed by the student. No make up lessons will be given in the summer term.  In the event of poor weather, the studio will remain open but the student should decide whether it is safe enough to travel. In some cases, skype or other technologies may be used in place of studio lessons. All lessons missed by the teacher will be made up or a credit will be made to the student's account. It is understood that the teacher will take some vacation time, although the dates are not known at this time.
  • If you no longer wish to take private lessons, you must give four weeks notice and your account must be paid in full through the very last lesson of the four week notice period. If a student chooses to quit immediately, the balance is still due. No refunds will be given.
